US Fish and Wildlife Service is a dedicated agency to look after proper management of wild life, natural habitats and fish. Their main mission is to conserve these resources and prevent them from any threat of extinction - either through natural calamity or by human activity. Their service also helps to maintain a balance of the eco-system, which is a practical need of the hour. The Congress created the United States Commission on Fish and Fisheries in 1871 that was entrusted to studies and recommending solutions towards enriching natural habitat of fish. In 1940, the Biological Survey and Bureaus of Fisheries were radically combined as the Fish and Wildlife Service.
