The company was founded in the year 1961 after two separate companies, the H.W. Lay and the Frito company merged together to form Frito-Lay Inc. the Company later merged with the Pepsi-Cola Company in the year 1965 to become its subsidiary. Its headquarters are in Plano, Texas.
