National Heritage Academies, Inc. is a for-profit chartered school management organization. It has its headquarter in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was established in 1995 by entrepreneur J.C. Huizenga. In 2012, the organization operates seventy-four chartered schools in the different states like Louisiana, Michigan Ohio, New York, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, and Wisconsin. National Heritage Academies are public schools and they charge no tuition, and are authorized by state-approved institutions such as universities and therefore they have no geographic boundaries. These schools contemplate on college attentiveness as well as serve the students in grades K-8.
