Really, if you compare prices to food quality, this is the best store in Modesto. Wal Mart isn't worth the trip to deal with the disgusting people in this town. However, store 61 is crap, and they should be shut down, moved, and re-trained.

So SaveMart/Luckys will be downsizing their employees because business is bad. The big guys are offering their employees a "voluntary layoff" (which is not a layoff because the company is screwing with the Unemployment laws.) Those who want to "keep" their job must accept a 25% pay cut!? But for the consumers it will be "business as usual" with NO reduction in your food bill. So much for improving our economy, now their going to add to the unemployed rolls. I guess the United Food Clerks and Workers Union cares as much as the big guys.

My wife and I have been shopping at our local SaveMart for over 14 years, but that's it for us. I went to do the shopping and got up to the cashier with our purchases and when I present my check to them, I was told that they could not accept it because the number on the check was not #200 or above. So since I only had the one check I was unable to purchase the groceries. I asked to talk to the manager and when he came he told me their policy was not to accept any checks #200 and above he was sorry but it was their policy. I was embrassed, shocked, angry and vowed we would never shop their again. When we got home and reviewed our check book and found we had six previous checks under #200 that they had accepted over the last 4 months and they had all been through our checking account with no problems. We do not understand why this policy was never explained to us previously. I don't think Save Mart is sorry that they just lost us as customers....WinCo here we come.

Long day at work, drop in buy Savemarts pork ribs, and a melon...your family is waiting at home for dinner....12 miles from Savemart to your house, you get in the house, cut up the ribs, melon....some veggies..The ribs are dry, old and salty..the melon is crunchy and tasteless...so you have cereal for dinner.thank you Savemart...Walmart is coming to Auburn, not that they are a great store, but their hot food and produce is better than yours...yes, I know you are terribly sorry...I will let the family know you are terribly sorry, this is my fault in a way, I KNEW I SHOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THESE....

Sonoma store had a management change the assistant manager talks down to help and New male manager can not make discussion Both are two face The assistant manager female always is hiding when I am in. I have noticed a severe morale change when the store lost the kind old manager Mr D. M. I find it sad that the new manager team would be so non caring toward the help. This community in Sonoma for a long time I never see them on their regular times that I have seen for years. I think the workers are upset with the change. You need to go in under cover and find what is going on in this store. I and my friends are now shopping at Safeway but I would like to go back to my old favorite store Luckys Ask the help what to do not that New Management team start caring for the Help!!!
