I have been a Dillard's customer, since the Stockton CA store open, it saddens me how, they discriminate with customer who return items, or make exchanges. Especially the Handbag department is the worse offender of them all. I have yet to see an associate with a pleasant smile, or customer service, it seems they are more concern with their sales per hour. I know, because they are always talking to each other about it. I'm speaking of those of us who do make purchases, and we have 30 days, to return, if we change our mind. Whether we are just trying to either make and exchange, or a return, they give an attitude toward the customer. I have also seen, when a customer buys an item a few days before a sale, and customer tries to ask if they can return their purchase, and buy it back. They say it's not their policy to make price adjustments, when items go on sale, yet, I have witness their many accounts and preference in who they are willing to help and make exceptions. I have seen when returns are made, associate say, they have to put the item back in store room for a couple a days, and if you ask to hold it they say they can't. I have seen when the customer leaves, they will put the item back on the floor. I feel, if they would change their return policy, there will have happy customer's that will return, and make more purchases. We should be able to walk with our heads high, when we enter Dillards. Not feel discriminated.

I have never experienced anything other than helpful and polite salespeople at Dillards so my comment is with regard to their ranking as being one of the worst places to work in America. It is too bad that this family-owned company does not value its employees or realizes that any company is only as good as its own people (and I don't mean obscenely high paid family executives). I've heard from former Dillards sales people some really disconcerting accounts about the way they're treated and I am not inclined to patronize such a place no matter how good or well-priced the merchandise. Hateful, greedy nepotism is no way to run a company.

I have been a dillards employee for five years and left another job b/c it wasnt a right fit and so I tried to get my job back at Dillards left on good terms (two weeks notice) and they didn't hire Me back because through the grapevine through management they only hire you back if you have a job and I didn't have a job. This is at 11824 West Broad street Richmond, Va 23233. Isn't that against The Federal Labor Law??? I'm going to report this. What horrible upper management this IS!

I’m mortified about the lack of customer service that Dillard’s Sunland Park has demonstrated. I can certainly see how Dillard has very little regard towards their customers’ opinions. I’m appalled with the lack out decision making skills that their main manager Dawn demonstrated. They first put damage merchandise on the shelves. She dared to tell me that they have never sold or given discounts on similar circumstances, which is a total lie. I have been a customer for years and can guarantee you that I WILL NEVER make a purchase at this store. I was going to spend over four hundred dollars in this visit. I had, the previous week, bought a Zan Posen purse. When I questioned Dawn’s inability to think outside the box and focus on resolving customer issues, she indicated that she was going to have to disconnect the call. I’m after all not surprised!!!! Dillard’s deceitful practices will not be tolerated. I will be filling a formal complaint with the better business bureau.
