Today, April 13, 2013 at 1500/1600 Gales Street NE Washington, DC 20002 one of your Havery's Delivery trunks blocked a one way street with vehicles on both sides parked and the driver refused to remove it. I requested the Mexican driver remove the blocking the road trunk and he stated, "You need to backed out." Thus, he proceeded to unload the trunk removing sofa, and placing some furniture upside the trunk. He walked to the customers home and being to take articles into the home, and in no hurry whatsoever. I phoned the police and told him I was calling and they stated they were coming as it is ILLEGAL TO BLOCK A government road. The driver just did not seem to care even when I told him the police were on their way. Now had there been an emergency and a fire trunk needed to pass they would have to locate the home of the delivery first and wait upon the driver to remove all the furniture upside the trunk before he could move it and a fatal hazzard could happen in those few moments, which is why its ILLEGAL TO BLOCK A ROAD. There was an alley the trunk should have been parked upon that would not have blocked the raod, but you need a driver with common sense to determine a safe place to parked without blocking a main road. I phoned the store manager and she stated we always blcok roads for delivery and so I am to understand HAVERTY'S is in the practice of breaking the law. I told her if it is ILLEGAL ot block a road, Havertys should not be in the practice of doing so and you should train your driver to not do so.
