The restaurants headquarters is in Indianapolis, Indiana. The products offered are burgers and milkshakes which are served around the clock. There are about 400 company owned Steak n Shake and approximately 100 franchised. The restaurant offers a sit down service and also a fast food, to go service. As Steak n Shake burgers are so famous and are commonly known as Steakburger and the ingredients are t bone, sirloin, and round steaks.

    I worked for steak n shake for a week and had to stop die to issues in family. Well this was 2 months ago and have yet to get my check!! I put in hours and would like my money I'm contacting corporate tomorrow and getting my check

    ON 8/19/2013,JUST A FEW DAYS AGO MY WIFE AND I,A LONG WITH OUR GRAND-SON ANDREW, WENT TO STEAK N' SHAKE IN SHEFFIELD VILLAGE,OHIO ON NORTH ABBE ROAD.MY WIFE ANGIE AND I WERE VICTIM'S OF DISCRIMINATION BY A SERVER WHO WOULD NOT SERVE US,SHE GIVES ME AND MY WIFE A DIRTY LOOK,AS SHE TRIES TO TAKE OUR DRINK AND FOOD ORDER'S AND SHE LEAVES.SO ABOUT 10 TO 15MIN.'S LATER SHE SEND'S ANOTHER SERVER TO COME OVER THAT IS AFRICAN AMERICAN,AND SHE TOLD US HER NAME WAS ALEXIS,WHICH THE FIRST SERVER NEVER DID.AND WHEN I ASKED WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR SERVER?ALEXIS TOLD ME AND MY WIFE, THAT SHE WAS OFF AND HAS A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT BECAUSE SHE IS PREGNANT,AND THIS AROUNT ALMOST 7:00 P.M.BUT AS SOON AS ALEXIS STARTED TAKING OUR ORDER THE FIRST WAITRESS WAS GREETING PEOPLE AT THE DOOR AND GETTING THEIR DRINK'S,AND TAKING THEIR FOOD ORDER'S,AND MY WIFE ANGIE AND I WERE WATCHING THE WHOLE THING!MEANWHILE ALEXIS GOT OUR DRINK'S AND OUR FOOD AND AFTER WE HAD FINISHED,I HAD TO TAKE MY GRAND-SON TO THE BATHROOM,SO WE HEADED TO THE BACK.ON THE LEFTHAND SIDE IN A BOOTH HERE SAT THE FIRST WASTRESS AND OUR SERVER ALEXIS,WHO TOLD US THAT THE FIRST SERVER WAS OFF AND HAD THE DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT! WE WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT A DOCTOR'S VISIT AT 7:00 P.M.,AND HERE IT'S ALMOST 8:00 P.M OR ALMOST AND THE GIRL IS STILL IN THE RESTAURANT STILL GIVING ME A DIRTY LOOK AS I TOOK MY GRAND SON TO THE BATHROOM.AS I HEAD OUT OF THE BATHROOM WITH MY GRAND-SON,MY WIFE ANGIE IS AT THE CASHREGISTER PAYING THE BILL,AND THE MGR. KNEW THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING NOT RIGHT,THE MGR. ASKED IS HOW WAS EVERYTHING?MY SAID IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!SHE WAS UPSET.I TOLD HER TO TAKE ANDREW TO THE CAR I WENT BACK IN AND I AM GOING BACK IN AND TALK TO THE MGR. I TOLD THE MGR. WHAT THE SITUATION WAS,THAT THERE WAS A CASE OF DISCRIMINATION GOING ON HERE.I TOLD HER WHAT HAPPENED SHE KEPT SAYING I AM SORRY,AND TOLD THAT THE WAITRESS IS PREGNANT BY HER BOYFRIEND AND HE IS BLACK!,AND SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE IS THE ONLY MGR. IN THE STORE AND THAT SHE IS FROM THE SANDUSKY STORE.AND THAT SHE DOESN'T SEE HOW THIS IS DISCRIMINATION? I CALLED CORPERATE THE NEXT DAY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DO TOLERAT THIS BEHAVIOR AT ALL FROM EMPLOYEE'S OR MANAGEMENT!THEY EVEN GAVE A DOCUMENT FILE NUMBER FOR MY DISCRIMINATION CASE!WHERE'S THE JUSTICE?YOU CAN'T EVEN GO OUT TO EAT IN PEACE ANYMORE? WITHOUT BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!

    My husband went through the drive thru at your Downers Grove store at about 10:30 pm. The restaurant was not busy, I had ordered the three shooter hamburgers with a side of fries. The burgers were all wrapped in one wrapper smashed together (looked like something that I would feed my dog). They tasted horrible and ended up just throwing them out. I will never ever eat at any of your restaurants again. I get very upset when I go to your restaurant or even other places and the employees just do not seem to care about the service that they give the public. Obviously they do not care about how they present the food. I think you all need to either re-train these employees or clean house and get some employees in their that care and care about the job that they are doing.

    The Steak N Shake in Mt. Zion KY has the worst service I have ever experienced. We sat and waited for our food for 45 minutes. We watched all the tables around us get there food so feeling pretty upset we got up to leave. I walked over to the manager & told her to cancel our order because we have been waiting for 45 minutes with two small children who are very hungry. She said, "we'll it's not like we are standing around not doing anything." We didn't receive an apology or anything. Never again will I attempt to eat there!

    I was contacted via email from Taylor Coker about a manager position. I replied back via email that 1pm Monday will work for a phone interview. Waited 2 hours and NO PHONE CALL! I'm very disappointed in this franchise on how irresponsible their corporate employees are!

    At 9:00 AM on June 16, I entered Steak & Shake (1881 Polaris Parkway, Columbus, OH 43240) and ordered a simple breakfast in a restaurant that was not very busy. A couple entered and sat in the both adjacent to mine. The waiter brought my coffee, and returned with 2 top offs! The waiter went into the grill area (which I could see and hear my my booth)and spoke in an excited, non-English (Spanish?) to the grill cook. The apparent manager (not in waiter attire with keys on a belt loop link) was assisting at the grill. Apparently, there was confusion at that site. The waiter was waiting at the kitchen window. The booth next to mine, who arrived after me, received their meal! I waited another 5 minutes (now about 25 minutes total), and left the restaurant!

    I went to the store in Joliet il on rt 30, ordered a shake and was served a 5.00 shake in a SMALL COFFEE CUP . I know this is wrong and person at the counter said that was all they had, if so I should not have paid full price when I did not get what I paid for

    All i can say is; you should be very dispointed in your. Mt. Prospect location especailly the. 11:30pm manager...ii dont know who allowed her to work for your company but it was poor choice...she represents your standards and she has severly put steak n shake to shame...she was rude and impatient in the drive from the get go...there was no hiding it...so much so that we were rushed in to ordering we were unclear as to what it was. And were extremely disapointed by....as we came to the window we witness an older woman in a sloppy untucked t- shirt ehich appeared to be unwashed and had nothing indentifying her as a dreak n shake employee...her body and hair appeared the same with unwashed face and hair falling loose from its tie like she could careless...we ate in the parking lot...we went through the drive thru again and believe it or not her demeanor was the same...which means she is doinh this to everyonre vising yo that because the the ability to never behave in a manner that is unbecoming of your companys' standard of professionalism...i would never manage my store like that....we believe in zero tolerace for that ugliness ....leave it at home!!!...i would loose my job on the spot...im ashamed and disgusted in who take that position for granted and are able to fake their way through promotions....i take pride in being a manager this is appauling!!!!!!my name is leanne and i visited mt prospect .il. on may 29 2013 at about 11:40 pm.
