Town & Country Food Stores is a convenience store chain that is spread across 168 different locations of New Mexico and Texas. The company started operating in 1958, but got itself into financial trouble during 1960s because of overexpansion. However, two company employees Harold Gibbs and Steve Stephens purchased Town & Country's seven stores (six in San Angelo and one in Del Rio) and acquired the company's name as well. In 2007, Susser Holdings purchased the company for $361 million. Presently, the company is expected to be rebranded as Stripes Convenience Stores. Town & Country generated yearly revenue of more than $850 million in 2006.
