My recent experience with Greyhound was a disaster! I bought a round trip ticket online from Detroit, MI. to Jackson, MS. At every stop you have to get off the bus and when connecting you carry your luggage around. The day I was returning home April 6th, no bus, no driver! The ticket agent told me the next bus was the next morning at 8 am, I was given a voucher for $100. off my next bus ride with them and given a voucher for a meal worth $8.50 in a greyhound station. With each driver you're told NO SMOKING! I told the driver, the guy sitting behind me was smoking everyone smelled it and so did she, he didn't get put off the bus. On the return home a connection in Atlanta was necessary. When I tried to collect my luggage it was gone! I asked what was I suppose to do, they said when I reach my final destination inquire about it then. A man, I was told was the supervisor put me out the greyhound bus station and said I couldn't get on any bus, because he was mad I wouldn't give him my telephone #! He told me the bus I was getting on was full. How could it be full when I purchased this ticket last week? I thought he was kidding about all of it. I said my man back in Detroit would not like me giving out my number. He looked up called the security guard and simply said put her out my station! With a stick, security guard with his bullying exterior extended like I was some kind of threat, frightened me as he escorted me off the premises. I talked to the police they said there was nothing they could do! I was stranded 800 miles from home! No one that worked there would try to help me once I told them what was going on and with who it was going on with. I felt violated was scared for my life because of the drug dealers, pimps and purse snatchers all trying to get me. I paid a cab $30. to take me to the airport only to find out no flights were leaving till the next day a 1 pm. After speaking to airport personnel, I caught a train back to Greyhound bus station to see if the supervisor Hassan was still there. He didn't get off till midnight. I caught another train back to airport because there was no place for me to wait to speak with a bus driver without him seeing me. At midnight I caught another train back to the greyhound bus station. I spoke with a driver, I explained what happened between the supervisor Hassan and myself. He told me to have a seat on the bus. The driver went to the supervisor and told him of our conversation and that he was putting me on his bus so I could get home. I have never felt so dismissed, violated scared and lost at the same time in my life! I made a complaint with Greyhound and have not heard anything back. What's worse is, I can't get his last name. The complaint department said that isn't the supervisor's name. I want to press charges, file a lawsuit and see him loose his job!
My recent experience with Greyhound was horrible. My connecting bus was more than 3 hours late and NO announcement was not made regarding the late arrival of the bus from Baltimore to Philadelphia. The staff WAS Not polite when I inquired regarding the lateness of the bus. I was then told that I could ride stand by for the next bus only after I inquired. Returning back I missed the bus to New Carrollton because the intercom was not working and the loud noises from the TV and people. I asked about the next bus and was told there would be a $20 cancellation fee and not refund or credit would not be given. Truly Horrible. I will never ride Greyhound again.
