Santikos Theatres is a chain based movie theater in the region of Texas. A Greek entrepreneur, Louis Santikos, started the business when he shifted to Texas. In early 1900s, he initiated establishing nickelodeons throughout Texas. Afterwards, John Santikos, his son, took over the charge of the theater and continued to expand the business by creating innumerable movie theaters, which also included local drive-ins and indoor multi-screen theaters. However, John was forced to sell the company to Act III Theaters in 1987, only to buy it back during the recession, in 2001. Afterwards, the chain eventually expanded with seven theaters in the nearby local areas and one outside San Antonio.
