Working in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology can be very stressful and today was one of those days. Parents being told their child has relapsed, a grandmother who provides care to a patient finding out that she herself now has cancer just hurts my soul.
I decided today was a good day to try out Bone Fish Grill at 6711 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. I had been eyeing the bang-bang shrimp tacos and today was a good day to treat myself and my son dinner. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I placed my order for curbside pick up and choose to pay inside. I drove the 58miles to Bonefish in Glen Burnie MD because I work in Fairfax VA and recently moved to Glen Burnie MD. I had not eaten here and was very excited too. I arrived 10 mins before my pick up time walked in somewhat lost because I’ve never been here before. I followed the signs that said Uber eats, Door dash pick up to a table that had bags of food on it, and right in front was my bag with my name on it. I stood there and stood there, I looked at people who looked at me, but never said a word. I walked over to the hostess booth and still no one. I walked back to the table where my food was hoping the bartender who had watched me come in would just say something like “Hi, someone will be right with you” but nothing. I can’t lie, I started to feel I wasn’t getting any help because I was the only black person in the restaurant. I was hoping this wasn’t the case, but I will never know. I butted in the bartender’s conversation to let her know I was there to pay and pick up food, but since no one even acknowledged me I was leaving the food right there on that table. She and the guy (all white) thought it was funny, I did not. They probably thought I was rude, but I am not. I did call the store to let them know I walked out and the reason I did so.
One of the managers Michelle did call me and afford to remake to food for me to pick up, or to give me a credit for the next time I may want food from there, but I just lost all taste for this restaurant and this establishment altogether.
WENT TO BONEFISH GRILL ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR THE BAMBAM SHRIMP SPECIAL? WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY DON'T HAVE BAM/BAM SHRIMP ON SPECIAL ANY MORE THAT WE COULD ORDER BUT AT REGUAL PRICE? WH DID THEY TAKE THAT WEDNESDAY NIGHT SPECIAL OFF. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHY?
THIS WILL BE OUR LAST TIME GOING TO BONEFISH GRILL ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT SPECIAL DEALFOR BAM/BAM SHRIMP. THE DRIVE IS 25 MILES ONE WAY SO WE ARE TALKING 50 MILE ROUND TRIP. WE LIVE IN CHESTER, VA AND BONE FISH IS ON HULL STREET NORTH. THE BAD THING IS WE CALLED FIRST BEFORE DRIVING ALL THE WAY OVER THERE. SORRY BAD BUSINESS, IT WILL A COLD PLACE IN HELL BEFORE WE GO BACK.
This is the third time we have been to bonefish in Staten island ny. The first time we went everything was perfect. Being gluten free, it was a pleasure to find a place that was delicious. The second time we went we waited 20 minutes before anyone came over to table a take our drink orders. And tonight we went in, it's not buddy at all. Sat at the table, 15.minutes goes by, i had to get up and ask for menus, mind you the hostess sat us. Then the one who was supposed to serve us, kept coming back to table next to us, mind you they were finished, never took our drink order at least, and no one came back. I asked the flighty hostess who was our wait staff. She went off and told the guys behind the bar, cause we were at the bar, they looked at us buy no one came. We got up and left. This is what happens when you have a bunch of kids running your establishment. I come from a long line of restaurant owners. It's a shame and that's why these kind of businesses go out. So disappointed.
