Sanford is the world's leading manufacturer of writing products. They primarily manufacture various products of Prismacolor, Paper Mate and Sharpie. They are based in the region of Oak Brook at Illinois. William H. Sandford and Frederick W. Redington established Sanford Manufacturing in Massachusetts on 1866. However, the Great Chicago Fire completely devastated the company after five years. Facilities were soon built and the company started regular operations. Later on, in 1947 the company was moved to various locations in order to make room for an upcoming expressway. During this course, they settled at Bellwood, in Illinois. In 1985, it was converted into a public enterprise.
