I live in Georgia and today I stopped at the Dollar General @3540 Hwy 81, McDonough, Georgia. The parking lot was filthy, garbage can outside was running over with trash on the side of the store. When I went in the store the floors were disgusting and there wasn't too much on the shelves but there was stock sitting all around the store blocking the isles. This is a new store and I was surprised to see how dirty it was. Some of the people who work there look unacceptable to be dealing with the public also. It was a mess....What is going on with Dollar General Stores?

You really should do better at hiring Managers for your store the store in our town, Is drinking getting drunk with under aged employees. She don't hiring anything but young people, that way the older ones don't tattle on her. She may be somewhat good at her job, but a very poor role model and poor person.

A family member of mine works at a Dollar General store in Texas and was told by management that employees are NOT allowed to take bathroom breaks while they are on the clock!!!! Who the heck comes up with these ridiculous rules!?! Of course managers make bank runs & can relieve themselves elsewhere. What are the employees suppose to do wet and crap their pants while tending to customers!?! Many of the store managers here also leave only after 2-3 hours of "work" and then have the audacity to complain that the store is a mess. Employees are left with up to 5 hour gaps alone until another employee relieves them. Talk about unethical work conditions. The local media needs to be alerted about this because the majority of district and store managers cover for each other. In this economy people need a job,but this is wrong!

the martin ky dollar general needs attention bad, it takes you at least 15 minutes inline to get checked out, they never get in a hurry for you, about 50% of the time you pull into there parking lot you will have them outside setting smoking, and they need a lesson on kindness to there customers, u hardly get a smile or a thank you, and most of all what bugs me the most they bag your food with cleaning or other chemical items when bagging them i always have to ask them not too, we need this store in our area. maybe thinks will in prove, needs looked into

As to the $1,000.00 for a suggestion. Here is mine for the safty of customers and clerks. Place magnetic locks on doors at each store and place signs on the doors that state "Warning" these doors lock when an attemped robbery may be in progress and police are on the way. My phone: 802-323-9037 Also your store sells flip flop shoes and I need to know who manufactures them. Please call or email me. wright1776@gmail.com Thanks.

We tried for years to attract a variety store to our small town. We finally got lucky and attracted Dollar General. I have yet to hear one single complaint about our store here in Malone, FL. From its construction and opening two years ago, its popularity and success has continued to grow in town and the surrounding area. Many local folks know and have become friends with the friendly and helpful D.G. employees. Best wishes and continued success.

I went into the store located in Beaver Dam, WI with my husband and there was a young girl trying to get stocking done and another girl by the name of Teresa sitting behind the counter with a UNLIT cigarette in her mouth texting on her phone, she yells at the young girl to get up here to help us while she sits there, 2 days later we go in there and the same rude cashier (Teresa) is chatting with 4 young teens and they got cigarettes, she never asked for an id, I know for a fact that the one was only 16 cause she is my neighbor's daughter. I guess we will take our business elsewhere seeing this is what kind of trash works there now. UNBELIEVABLE!!

CEO David A Perdue & Susie Long, Dollar General company via does not assess applications, instead a system generates an email to an applicant once they have applied with a general reply of "your skills do not match, please apply in 6 months again, and be sure your skills match the position for which you are applying for" This of course after you are asked AGE on the application via the Work tax credit questions, therefore you are discriminated against for any management positions if you are over the age of 40, this is against the law. You are not allowed to ask age until an offer of employment is given to meet the TAX CREDIT CRITERIA. EEOC will be notified of this "profiling" and illegal practices on your pre-employment application via KeneXa. I have made an inquiry via phone and online with corporate.
